I haven’t shot with Amarisse in a while, which is a travesty since it’s impossible to take a bad photo of her. Bad weather and Swine Flu have stopped us from doing anything in the last month, but we finally got down to work again yesterday.
We made our way out to Hwaseong Fortress for a Hanbok photo shoot, but had some time to bust out the new ring flash and put it to use. Kanye style, playa. And take a few minutes to get warm. It was cold.
I have some catching up to do on my processing, but here’s a SOOC shot until I get the Hanbok shots up next week. Word.

Bella 73
yospyn.com – Bella and her sister Cassandra (makeup) came over to play this morning, this was the last idea we tried. It’s a ringflash on camera with an SB800 behind, ND filter to blur background, 1/250 f/9 @ 31mm. There’s another one like this but we decided to keep both her eyes in play. The waitstaff at Sette Osteria were very interested in what we were doing, as the background is the parking garage next to their outdoor patio.
Much thanks for Bella sweating out a cashmere scarf in 90 degree weather, although she claims not to have felt much heat. I, however, sweat CONSTANTLY during these sessions because the ringflash on a D2X and a 17-55DX is not exactly light. Not to mention carrying around a battery pack. Although the discovery of featherweight lithium batteries for the SB800 blew my mind.
