Specialized Housing Systems

All housings are custom made and fit to exact specifications of camera and equipment. Specialized systems like those above can also be designed. The standard timeframe to create a housing is 1-3 months depending on project requirements and production schedule.

What is special about White Water Hawaii housings?

Body is made of laminated nitex (polyester resin & fiberglass). One layer on the oustside and one layer on the inside. This creates a rigid structure and prevents leakage in case of structural damage.

All housings are sealed with colored gel coat. Yellow is the standard color. Custom colors are available for an additional fee including orange, red, sky blue and white.

Benefits of composite material, as opposed to aluminum, is it does not corrode. Fiberglass also allows shaping softer edges and curves which is safer if the housing hits the photographer. 

Hardware and controls are made of stainless steel to prevent corrosion.

Digital / Still
Standard controls for the digital and still housings are shutter/release button, shutter speed control and aperature control. Additional controls can be added to all housings.

Video
Standard controls for the video housings are lever controls and knobs for on/off, record and zoom. Additional controls can be added to all housings.

Handles and pistol grip are made of composite material and hand-made.

Digital cameras with pistol grips have a two-stage switch. One stage operates the pre-focus and 2nd stage operates the shutter.

The port is made of acrylic with the front element being glass (except fisheye domes which have acrylic front elements). The standard size for the fisheye domes is 5 inches with custom options up to 12 inches.

The housing and port is sealed with an “o” ring and tightened with nuts & bolts. Dive housing clips are not used since nuts & bolts put an even pressure on the “o” ring for a better seal.

Rebuilt from scratch HENSEL introduces the newest generation of Ringflash. Lightweight, (1.8 kg / 3.98 lbs.) with amazing short flash duration due to a special 4-pin flash tube, this Ringflash is easy to hold because it has a handle. The whole assembly can be held with one hand while your other hand is free to manipulate the camera which makes taking upright shots easy for both right and left handed shooters. The handle also helps keep it from getting kinked up.

The proven Porty Premium was further enhanced and now has one more button to make the user’s (photographic) life easier. This button is the key to using the revised radio remote control system.

The new Porty PLUS with an integrated radio receiver offers not only the possibility of radio-controlled triggering but also provides the option of power adjustment in 1/10 f-stop increments. Even the modeling light can be switched on and off remotely.

The channel can be easily selected by using the RC/CH button on the operator panel. In total, there are 3 different channels available on the device. The Porty’s radio antenna is now screwed on and can be easily removed or replaced by the user if needed. HENSEL PRO MINI 1200 AS

Hensel Studiotechnik, innovator in digital strobe gear, has developed a new PRO MINI power pack with small and powerful EH PRO MINI flash heads. The two elements give the photographer a set of strobes geared toward travel and easy transport. With it’s small design and digital controls the PRO MINI gives the photographer all the advantages of Hensel’s TRIA studio packs.

In spite of its small size, the generator provides symmetric or asymmetric power distribution, load switching and radio remote control in addition to the usual HENSEL features.
Asymmetric control gives great creativeness in lighting and the use of several flash heads on a single generator.

Capacitor circuits ensure quick flash durations and a very stable color temperature over the whole control range of the generator. In conjunction with high performance electronics, this allows for a much greater power range of 37,5 J to 1200 J, adjusted in 1/10 f-stop increments.
