It just two L-brackets put together. Chinese quality at 85 RMB. Well, you can’t beat the price I guess! I’d love to see it in practice. Did you get one?

That Chinese thing is basically just two L-brackets, if you’re into the DIY thingy they should be in any hardware store.

There’s a photo shop near my house that has a lot of junk gear. I was thinking about picking up a couple of old brackets there, or hitting up a hardware store (or Tokyu Hands, closest thing around here) to see what they might have to take the place of an arm. the prices that I’ve heard rumored seem a little steep

Mine is. It kinda gets in the way of the zoom ring on my Tamron 17-50, but that wasn’t such a big deal to me. I’ve been using it a bit, and bouncing back to freehand, and I kinda like the feel of freehand better. I guess I’m glad I discovered that on a DIY project, instead of buying the arm.

I have got the L brackets from eBay, works perfectly with the ring flash.

Go search “Dual-L Flash Bracket for Canon” on ebay and the cost is around $20 with free shipping. Will post pictures soon.

The L brackets from eBay look better and better. The brackets don’t come with a “cold” shoe for the speed flash – what did you do for that Bryan? I use Nikon wireless and was wondering if I should just use a flash cord instead. Anyone?

You could just screw a cold shoe to it. That should work ok.
