Ringflash eyecatch example

yospyn.com – Wonderful work by Temi with makeup, Carlin was shot using an on-camera ringflash and strobe up top centered behind. The strobe used a beauty dish and grid filter to narrowly focus the background light, which increases light falloff in all four corners and also removes any “halo” shadows caused by the ringflash. Used the ND 4X on this one as well. 1/250, f/9.0, 17mm (see Hennessey in a similar setting)

Carlin was incredibly easy to work with and I’m still astonished by how beautiful she is, I think the other DC photogs would agree.
