Mamiya Super 23 polaroid tribute, originally uploaded by dsevilla.

Polaroid Land Camera 250 + Close-up kit + Fuji FP-100c + SL-3 flash.

This beauty came to me a few days back, and I felt in love with it. I’m eager to see the film developed through it.

This is a Rangefinder Mamiya Press Super 23 with a Mamiya-Sekor 90mmf/3.5 collapsible (to allow near infinity focusing when tilting the back) with a 6×7 120/220 back. In the speedlight hood, the Voigtländer VC meter.

I’m amazed at the quality of the close-up kit setup for the land camera. In big size you can see sharply even the lens description…

Strobist note: I used an old “SL-3″ flash bounced to the right white wall.

We were messing around yesterday doing some photos when I remembered how

inspired I was by a photo taken by flickr user TokyoBoy. So this is our own version.. without the cool Japanese location. © james madelin 2009.

During a recent visit to the flashy London offices of Amateur Photographer UK, they mentioned they’d reviewed the orbis™. As it’s been reviewed in so many mags, I had to admit that I’d totally missed it! So here’s the clipping… 4/5 stars. I’m hoping that with the orbis™ arm we’ll be able to get full marks!

More orbis™ backstage…, originally uploaded by jmfoto.

Another photo from NZ Fashion Week 2009 of the orbis™ in use, to grab on-the-fly backstage shots of some Adrian Hailwood garments. Apparently the model was a contestant in a recent series of a locally produced version of “America’s Next Top Model” !!! I’m hoping to interview the photographer soon too…. © Aaron K

The Speedotron Explorer 1500 Digital Portable Power Supply

It’s my main equipment. I’ve been used yhis Speedotron explorer 1500 since 2006. my decision was cause it was portable. and small. (but little heavy) and I found displayed (almost) new one. in the shop. I bought thisexact half-price. I was   kind of  Hensel studio Lighting user. But Hensel portable powerpack series. little bit expensive for me. nowadays I just shoot personal work. explorer 1500 has strong and long-lasted battery. and stable light quality. my only complain for this equip is speedotron don’t  have Ringflash  . why ? I tried find some shop who can make custom ringflash for speedotron . but I can’t not believe their ringflash quality and not that cheap ! (they ask me a $1,000. )

So . I want Orbis ringflash or rayflash . ringflash cannot be a main lighting . I can’t wait for orbis ringflah adapter. I’ll post more about speedotron explorer 1500 portable power. photosample.  battery info . and reseller.

you can see some of my result from explorer 1500.
